Weinrieder - Ried Hochleiten Lagenreserve Grüner Veltliner "by Lukas" 2019

Vinified in stainless steel, the late-harvested 2019 Ried Hochleiten Lagenreserve Grüner Veltliner "by Lukas" is a selection of the very best Veltiner grapes of the vintage that were macerated for 10 days to extract all the ingredients. 

Fritz and his son Bernhard Rieder have bottled a fascinating series of Rieslings and Grüner Veltliners from the Weinviertel north of Vienna. I hadn't tasted the wines for too long, and I was really surprised about the style and quality. The wines have always been excellent, but now they are great and among the finest produced today in this region between Vienna, Weinviertel and Slovakia.
